ABOUT ME

Hello! I’m Vamsi Gunnam, a fashion designer currently based in the London, UK. My work explores art, materials, and unique silhouettes.

My journey into fashion has been unconventional. I began my academic path in engineering, but fate intervened, leading me to discover my true calling in fashion & design. Fashion gave me a way to express ideas, emotions, and storytelling through drawing. While my path initially pointed toward pure design, circumstances guided me into fashion management—a field in which I excelled. Yet my heart has always remained steadfastly drawn to design, where I believe my true potential lies.

I bring solid knowledge of womenswear, trends, and the luxury market. I create designs of luxury haute couture and ready-to-wear .While I do not currently sew or develop patterns at this point in time, my strengths lie in design conceptualization and illustration; developing cohesive collections from concept to final design; visual storytelling through mood boards and creative research; and an awareness of brand identity, consumer psychology, and market relevance—along with a strategic mindset shaped by my background in management and engineering.

My experience includes collaborating on a confidential couture project with a Parisian couture house, where I contributed research, mood board, concept sketches, and design ideas for their Haute Couture Fall 2024 collection—elements of which were later adapted into their Ready-to-Wear Summer 2025 line aswell. My design process is deeply research-driven: I look at heritage, archives, and house codes, using these references to build shapes, silhouettes, and moods. I enjoy balancing tradition with a modern point of view, creating work that feels expressive, contemporary, and aligned with a clear vision.

In the long run, my vision is to build a small, carefully curated brand of my own—one that is not commercial in the traditional sense, but instead exists as a niche, sustainable, and deeply personal space. I aspire to create work that brings together my Indian cultural roots, traditional craftsmanship, and artistic sensibility, celebrating fashion as a form of storytelling, heritage, and thoughtful creation.
